Hospice represents a compassionate, positive approach to the end-of-life experience. It provides comforting care that emphasizes quality of life and often involves abstaining from medical treatments and procedures that cause pain and distress, yet have no lasting benefit.

At Agape Hospice, we focus on relieving pain and discomfort, with efforts directed also to the provision of support to help you choose your end-of-life experience. We, in fact, address all aspects of one’s life—physical, social, emotional, and spiritual. Hospice aims to make life’s passage a peaceful, healing transition.

Agape Hospice is more of a concept than a specific place. While our services are available in nursing homes and assisted living centers, many choose to have us in their own homes. This allows patients the opportunity to remain in familiar surroundings at life’s conclusion. Our services are an option for people whose life expectancy is six months or less. There are no age restrictions and anyone in the final stages of life is eligible for our services.

As for financing care, Medicare and Medicaid programs pay hospice providers a per diem rate that is intended to cover virtually 100% of expenses related to one’s terminal illness. Hospice is an entitlement program and is covered under Medicare Part A.
